Throughout the years, more and more applications and solutions require more bandwidth; therefore, networking devices have to be able to evolve together with changing demands of IoT and enterprise markets. Besides, there are limited options when it comes to providing powerful, reliable, and fast connectivity to the Internet for your equipment and solutions when they are based in remote locations. So, what can you do? All these questions and doubts can be answered by Teltonika Networks newest enterprise cellular router– the RUTX12! This device is designed for solutions where throughput and uninterruptible connectivity is a must.

Introducing the RUTX12

Dual LTE with Load Balancing
The RUTX12 has two independent 4G LTE CAT6 mobile modems working with 2 SIM cards to provide redundancy and maximize connection availability with advanced network security features. When the two modems are working simultaneously, the router can reach the throughput of up to 600 Mbps with load balancing. When this feature is enabled, the traffic is distributed across a number of connections, which remain separate. Load balancing supports open standards such as IPSec when setting up VPNs. While the VPN itself will only run on one active channel at a time, it can be set to auto-failover between channels should the link fail. Load balancing functionality lets you split the traffic according to different priorities and security levels. Furthermore, the RUTX12 can send or receive SMS to one of the SIM cards while the other SIM card can be dedicated to providing only data services. This functionality enables flexibility and cost-effectiveness to your solution having all of that functionality in a single device. This is especially appealing to situations when you need to split data traffic into two streams with the two mobile modems so that your corporate data would go through one of the modems, while other data would travel through the secondary modem to comply with high-security standards and avoid interference.

Introducing the RUTX12

RUTX12 Connectivity Options
RUTX12 is equipped with multiple interfaces, including 5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB 2.0, Global Navigation Satellite System and I/O. In addition, Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 allows users to pair the RUTX12 with sensors of all types, shapes, and sizes that give read-out information, show status, or can be used to build complex and innovative IoT solutions. These include, but are not limited to, environmental condition monitoring, access control, time management in a workplace, indoor tracking, and asset management. RUTX12 router can be paired with many different sensors at the same time, for example, this device can work with up to 200 Blue Coin sensors that can be found in our Accessories Section. The RUTX12 offers robust wireless service with Dual Band 2.4 GHz N & 5 GHz AC WiFi that provides flexibility to split traffic for better security and solution effectiveness while enjoying fast wireless data connection. The Global Navigation System Support, more commonly referred to as GPS, enables to track the location of the router, apply geofencing rules or can be used for time synchronization. Location services make it even easier to manage the fleet of RUTX12s in our Remote Management System (RMS)

Introducing the RUTX12

Software and Remote Management
The RUTX12 has the same software as all other routers & gateways by Teltonika Networks – the RutOS. This system is regarded by our device users across the globe as one of the most important reasons for choosing our connectivity solutions and networking equipment. However, having to manage two LTE modems simultaneously comes with additional RutOS features developed especially for the RUTX12. Overall, you can expect to find the full RutOS functionality with VLANs, location services, industrial, remote service protocol support, and advanced security features like firewall & support for multiple VPN services. Finally, RutOS provides seamless integration with third-party applications, cloud, management platforms, and captive portal management tools.

RUTX12, like all other routers and gateways from Teltonika Networks, is compatible with Remote Management System (RMS) – IoT platform. You can conveniently upgrade routers configuration and firmware, set alerts, get notifications, and manage your whole fleet of routers with ease. Also, with RMS you can update your device firmware with a couple clicks of a button regardless of how many devices you want to upgrade. You can check all the capabilities of Teltonika Networks RMS. Also, with each supported device, you can test the platform yourselves with a free 30-day trial. To learn more about how can, RMS can help build your next IoT solution, contact your Teltonika Networks manager or take a look at a recording of a recent webinar about this subject.

Use Case – Uninterrupted Retail Connectivity
Retail market is highly dependent on reliable, fact and secure internet connectivity. In the heart of the cities it’s quite easy to have reliable landline connectivity, but for companies, who manages shops in areas where internet connectivity is unstable and very slow or even unreachable, it’s crucial to pick the “right” devices for the job. Check out how to ensure reliable connectivity for retail businesses with powerful RUTX12.

Finally, The RUTX12 is designed and tested to meet the requirements of industrial, mobile, security, and other harsh environment applications where standard commercial designs fail. Specifications include wide operating temperature ranges from -40 to +75 °C, input voltage range 9 VDC to 50 VDC, and rugged aluminium housing compatible with Din Rail and surface mounting options.
